skip to content jill rion bogard my leukemia journey scroll down to content posts posted on july 30, 2018 from jill… hey everyone!! sorry i haven’t posted lately. i had a horrible 6th round of chemo but god kept me. i even had to go to er one night by ambulance cause my heart rate and blood pressure went crazy. they said it was all side effects of the chemo. i had not been to church or anywhere else for 5 months. my doctor said i could go to church last sunday and yesterday. thank you jesus!!! michelle brought me to md anderson today for my 7th round of chemo. i only had rounds 7 and 8 left. we had all been praying that i wouldn’t have to do these last two rounds because of all the sickness and side effects. this morning my doctor walked in the room and immediately said you are done with chemo!! you do not need round 7 and 8. you will start a maintenance chemo once a month and there are no side effects. to god be the glory. i have cried for two hours i’m so happy!!!! thank you all so much for coming on this journey with me. remember when i walked in md anderson they said i was dying. they started my chemo before they got insurance approval because he said i couldn’t wait. i will shout it from the roof tops to everyone that jesus healed me. this post probably has crazy sentences in it but i’m so excited and crying so much it’s hard to type. i love, love, love you all and so thankful for your prayers and support. love, jill posted on june 25, 2018 round #6 jill is back at md anderson. she will have a bone marrow @ 9:30 am and will start round 6 of chemo sometime today. she has asked for everyone to pray that she doesn’t run fever this round! #forhisglory #round6 posted on may 30, 2018 may 30, 2018 5th round of chemo begins jill is back at md for her 5th round of chemo which will take a full week. they began the chemo last night and will be giving her a different chemo everyday. she only has 3 more rounds to go after this one! ! she asked that you keep praying that her body will have strength to keep up. she is feeling good except for being very tired. thanks for all the prayers and thanks for being with jill on this journey. #forhisglory posted on may 22, 2018 may 22 update just wanted to give a quick update since so many of you have texted, called, and emailed wondering why there hasn’t been any blog updates on jill. she has been busy the last week or so going back and forth between lake charles and houston getting blood work, platelets, etc. thanks to all the friends who have taken her back and forth!!! jill’s 5th round of chemo should begin next week – but it will all depend on her levels. please continue to pray for jill. as you can imagine, this all starts taking its toll. not only physically, but also emotionally. we pray god continues to give her strength to continue this journey. in jesus name!! #forhisglory posted on may 4, 2018 back at mda jill went back to mda yesterday. her fever spiked to 103 degrees wednesday night so her doctor wanted her to come back to houston. she was already scheduled to go back over this sunday night to begin her 4th round of chemo….so she’ll probably just stay @ md. her blood and potassium levels are low so they are getting her all pumped back up and have her on strong antibiotics to fight the fever. her words for the blog… “i’m all good! everyone keep me in your prayers as i start round 4 this monday. i’ll be at md for the week.” posted on april 21, 2018 april 21, 2018 home sweet home! for the first time in 56 days – jill was able to come home this afternoon!! her immune system is very low and will be that way for the next several days. she said that she is in remission and for that she is thankful!! please keep her in your prayers. she is happy to be home after being gone for so long and has cried many tears of joy and thankfulness! #forhisglory posted on april 17, 2018 april 17, 2018 3rd round of chemo begins yesterday jill was admitted back to the hospital at mda to begin her 3rd round of chemo. it’s another 21 day round with the first 4-5 days in the hospital. the last part of the 21 days will be oral chemo. keep the prayers coming. jill said she misses everyone and just wants to go home. just imagine……2 days in st pats hospital in lake charles….39 days at md anderson in houston…..12 days in a hotel by mda for outpatient and now…back in md anderson for more day! she needs prayer support – not just for her complete healing but also for her emotions. sometimes it hits her but she is trusting in all the prayers and knows god is doing a work! posted on april 10, 2018 good numbers today jill is still at the hotel but going back and forth to md for her blood work, etc. the doctors are looking to start her 3rd round of chemo next week. her numbers are looking great she said! the liver numbers were almost 400 at the beginning and her numbers as of yesterday were 95! we are thanking god for this miracle!! #forhisglory posted on april 9, 2018 april 9, 2018 monday report jill had a great weekend with glyn, baylee and nichole and she is back at outpatient this morning. her numbers are looking great and thanks everyone for all the prayers. she loves and misses everyone!!
